Wow, where to begin this next one. I'm kinda on fire, so for claritys sake I must hit the beginning.

I recently read a post that Brandon wrote on being a little slack. Althought I thought he was hard on himself, I understand he was simply doing a reality check to improve himself, his status as a team member, his committment, and his game. Highly commendable post!!

So, to the beginning of my realization;

December 2008. I got laid off from a great job. I walked an average of 3 miles a day in the building, lifted and sorted a lot of stuff that kept me loose and limber. Saw tons of people on my rounds. Had daylight hours. All around good gig for me.

How does that relate to my 2008 paintball season?

I did 5 weekend Scenario games. Each day of the weekend, including night play, I was out on the field. One of my personal better seasons.

Now lets look at 2009. Got a job with my dad wrenching fire hydrants for 6 months to suppliment being laid off. Lost some cardio, but got a nice ripped upper body. Then got a job in security in June. Gained some cardio, lost a bit in the upper body. Also went to working third shift hours in the security job.

How does this relate to my 2009 season?

I did only 4 weekend scenarios. Of the 4 games, I only played for the first day in 2 of them. I felt great on the field holding my gun, because I as ripped a bit from the fire hydrants, but lost stamina quick as it was difficult to adjust to the time change of my third shift schedule. Not one of my better years.

So, that little history behind me (needed to establish baseline) I arrive a January 2010. My wife says she wants to drop some extra pounds. I'd like to get some definition back in my build, as well as some flexibility. So we dig out the Billy Blanks Tae Bo Dvd's that got boxed up and forgotten about when we had the kids. We did them this morning.

REALITY CHECK!!! What was once something I could do fairly well just KICKED MY ASS!!!

I am very strong, but this basic boot camp dvd just showed me I have very little flexibility left and I need a major cardio uplift. Even my hands are sore right now.

Well, my wife and I made a pact, and I am sticking to it!! How will I accomplish this? One word, right now, your 2010 motivational speech starts now, sissies;
